Is there any argument to paying an "elite" safety like Antoine Winfield Jr? Do elite safeties even exist in the current NFL? I would assume the difference between top-tier safeties and their average counterparts is relatively small compared to other positions.
Also, not trying to create more work for you but is there a reason 2023 Plus/Minus numbers aren't available for defensive players?
Where would you put Tua if he signs for slightly more than Goff? It’s really a question about high performing system QBs. The 49ers said no thanks to Jimmy G despite his numbers, and tried to pivot to Lance. However we have a few examples where teams say Yes.
