Week 2 Power Rankings
We haven't learned a lot so far in 2023, but enough to shake up compacted rankings in the middle NFL tiers
Congrats to all for surviving through Week 1 and steeling yourself to handle the weekly absurdity of NFL power rankings. Now, of course, my rankings aren’t, at all, absurd, and are instead 100% correct. Seriously, I use my adjusted scores that are the core of the advanced reviews to find the best weekly performance numbers, then adjust for schedule and decay past results to give them less impact than those more recent.
At the end of the post, I’ll compare these updated rankings to those leading into Week 1. There can be some big movements in the middle tiers, but you’ll see that there isn’t a ton separating those teams in strength. A slight shift can move a team up or down a handful of rankings, without it saying much about their playoff prospects.
