The playoff games are weighed differently based on the playoff format of the time. Basically, a *full* playoff run (estimated at 3.5 games now with a lot of bye teams going to the SB) is weighted like half of a regular season. In the distant past, the weightings are heavier per game because sometimes there were only 1-2 games in the postseason
Ok cool, that strikes a nice balance between making the playoffs more important but not *too* important. Are playoff games included in the year-by-year graphs?
